‘Springtime’ Indian hawthorn is a compact evergreen shrub 1 m clothed in leathery, glossy leaves that resist salt spray and pollution. From late March to May it erupts in dense clusters of soft pink, apple‑blossom flowers, followed by blue‑black berries enjoyed by birds. Sun‑loving and drought‑tolerant once rooted, it is hardy to −8 °C in well‑drained soil. Minimal pruning after bloom maintains the neat dome, making it perfect for coastal beds, low hedges and patio pots.
