OSMANTHUS fragrans

Fragrant tea olive grows 4 m, its tiny orange or white blooms filling late summer air with apricot perfume used in Asian teas. Evergreen, glossy leaves tolerate heat and some drought; hardy only to −8 °C, so plant in sheltered microclimates or containers. Prune lightly after bloom to shape.
