MAHONIA confusa Narihira

‘Narihira’ offers arching, bamboo‑like pinnate leaves on a low, clump‑forming shrub 1 m, staying compact compared with other mahonias. Fragrant yellow flower racemes in autumn provide late nectar, followed by black berries. Best in dappled shade and moist but drained, acidic soil; hardy to −15 °C. Trim spent flower stalks in spring; handsome foliage adds texture to woodland edges.
