‘Aurea’ oleaster lights up hedges with gold‑splashed evergreen leaves—broad golden centres edged grey‑green. Tough and salt‑tolerant, the 3 m shrub forms a dense, bird‑friendly screen in sun or shade on poor soil. Tiny, silvery, autumn flowers are intensely fragrant and followed by orange berries in spring. Shear in late spring and again in late summer to shape; otherwise virtually maintenance‑free, drought‑resistant and hardy to −15 °C.
