Dogwood ‘Baton Rouge’ is grown for its intensely bright red winter stems, lighting up the garden after leaf fall. Summer brings green foliage and small white flower clusters followed by white berries that birds enjoy. Fast to 2 m, it thrives in sun or part shade and damp soil. Cut back hard in early spring to stimulate fresh coloured shoots and pair with evergreens for contrast.
