The Persian silk tree is a graceful deciduous tree 6–10 m tall with a broad, umbrella canopy. Fern‑like leaves close at night, while fluffy pink flowers appear June–August, rich in nectar for bees and butterflies. Flat pods follow. It loves full sun, heat and well‑drained poor soil, tolerating drought once established and creating dappled, exotic shade.
