Crimson King is a robust Norway maple prized for its long‑lasting purple foliage. Reaching 15 m with a broad, rounded crown, it casts dense shade and makes a handsome avenue, street or lawn tree. In spring, small yellow flowers contrast vividly with unfolding leaves; in autumn the canopy deepens to maroon before leaf‑drop. The cultivar thrives in urban pollution, wind and drought once established, grows in almost any soil, and is hardy to −30 °C. Minimal pruning and strong branch structure ensure decades of reliable colour and shelter.
