Skeeter’s Broom is a dwarf, upright Japanese maple forming a narrow column about 3 m tall. Tiny, deeply cut leaves emerge bright scarlet, darken to wine‑red in summer and finish glowing crimson in autumn. The naturally fastigiate shape needs no pruning, so it slots neatly into courtyards, terrace pots or small borders. It prefers moist, acidic, well‑drained soil and light shade, yet tolerates full sun in cool climates. Hardy to −20 °C and generally pest free, red twigs provide winter colour, delivering year‑round architectural impact with minimal maintenance.
