Weigelas are easy shrubs 1–2 m producing trumpet flowers of pink, red or white in May‑June, often repeating later. Some cultivars carry variegated or burgundy foliage. Sun gives best bloom; hardy to −25 °C and tolerant of clay. Prune out two thirds of flowered stems after bloom to encourage new shoots and heavier flowering next year.
