Large‑leaved lime boasts broad, downy leaves up to 15 cm and early June blossom rich in nectar. Tall 30 m tree with deeply furrowed bark as it ages. Prefers moist fertile soils but tolerates chalk; hardy to −30 °C. Train as handsome pollards lining historic avenues.
