Spireas are easy deciduous shrubs 0.8–2 m offering spring bridal‑white cascades (S. × arguta) or summer pink corymbs (S. japonica). Foliage of some cultivars turns orange‑gold in autumn. Full sun, any reasonable soil, hardy to −30 °C. After bloom, prune the flowering stems to a strong bud or coppice Japanese types in late winter for vibrant new growth.
