Shrubby cinquefoil is a hardy 1 m subshrub smothered in butter‑yellow blooms from June to frost. Fine grey leaves tolerate drought, wind and −30 °C cold. Full sun gives best flower show; prune back a third in spring to renew growth. Excellent in mass plantings, rock gardens and pollinator borders.
