Rapid to 3 m, it forms excellent low‑maintenance, coastal hedging. Insignificant but sweetly scented autumn flowers lure pollinators; juicy red‑orange berries follow. Thrives in full sun or shade, wind, drought and urban pollution. Clip once or twice annually to keep tidy and encourage vivid regrowth.
