Strawberry tree is an evergreen Mediterranean shrub or small tree 4–7 m with cinnamon‑peeling bark, dark glossy leaves and clusters of white bell flowers that open alongside last year’s red fruits. Flowers supply winter nectar and berries make jams or liqueurs. Thrives in full sun, well‑drained acidic soil, coping with salt, wind and drought once established; hardy to −12 °C.
