ACER campestre

Field maple, native to Europe, is a small‑to‑medium deciduous tree with a rounded crown and hard, creamy‑brown timber. Five‑lobed leaves emerge bright green and turn golden‑yellow in autumn, while spring brings clusters of yellow‑green flowers rich in nectar for pollinators. Tough and adaptable, it withstands pruning, pollution and drought, making it an excellent hedging or street tree. Sap can even be tapped for maple syrup. Ultimate height 12–15 m.
